The Timezone used for this is Europe/Berlin or Central European Time (CET).
The data comes from various sources. The most reliable one is from my server periodically checking the current subscriber number on the website. This only started on August 15th.
The older data was collected manually using archive.org and by searching for mentions of the subscriber number in reddit posts and LTT videos.
Hovering over a data point shows a tooltip that mentions the source of the data point.
Be aware that the older data is not 100% accurate.
